You might think nutritionists talk about nutrients and dietitians work in hospitals. Azmina is both a consultant nutritionist and award-winning registered dietitian, and in her unique style, she takes evidence-based nutrition and translates it into language the consumer can understand – and she doesn’t work in a hospital (anymore).
She’s a lively, vibrant and authoritative communicator. That’s one of the reasons why she’s a media spokesperson for the British Dietetic Association (BDA), resident dietitian for patient.co.uk, a regular contributor to NHS Choices and a previous Campaign Dietitian for Change4life. She has been interviewed numerous times on television, radio, and in print media. Azmina is co-founder of the award-winning RDUK twitter chats and is often featured on bbc.co.uk.
She’s also a best-selling author; amongst her 15 books, you’ll see The Gi Plan, with behavioural expert Nina Puddefoot, The Diabetes Weight Loss Diet with Antony Worrall Thompson, and Weight Watchers 123 Success Cookbook. Most of her books are published world-wide and have been translated into European and Eastern languages.
If you want to engage with Key Opinion Leaders, you can rely on Azmina’s influencing skills. She has a knack for facilitating energising debate amongst professionals and the media, and can work with you to reach your target audience.
Her latest specialist interests are protein, satiety, healthy snacking, vitamin D, sugar, nutrition for the over 50’s, nutrition trends and using social media to spread credible messages. Check out what people say about her. Listen to her now on BBC Radio 4 Food Programme (April 2015) talking about diabetes.
Oh, and some personal stuff… Azmina enjoys spending time with her children, entertaining, gourmet cooking, novice interior design, yoga, travelling and a good games night with close friends.
